EVENT DETAILS
Please join us for a 10th anniversary retrospective of the award-winning documentary, "XXXY" and a discussion on what has and has not changed in the treatment of people born with variations of sex anatomy. January 26, 2012, 6 to 9 pm Congregation Sha’ar Zahav, 290 Dolores Street, San Francisco, CA The 13-minute film "XXXY" features two adults, Howard and Kristi, who were subjected to extensive nonconsensual cosmetic genital surgery as infants and teenagers because they were born with intersex conditions. Filmmaker Magazine calls “XXXY” “essential filmmaking” as it “concisely and powerfully conveys horror, injustice and tremendous personal fortitude.” Q&A will follow with filmmaker Porter Gale and Anne Tamar-Mattis, Executive Director of AIC. Sha'ar Zahav is located near MUNI and BART. Garage parking is available. See you there!
